Google Ads is the new name for Google AdWords

Google AdWords officially becomes Google Ads !

The Google Ads name and logo are completely new, and the URL for accessing the service also changes
(►from adwords.google.com to ads.google.com) as well as that of the Help Center (►from support.google.com/adwords to support.google.com/google-ads).
But no anxiety!

This transformation makes no changes to campaign performance, does not revolutionize navigation again, and reports are generated in the same way as before.

In short, you don’t have to do anything….

In fact, the new Google Ads brand includes all types of campaigns that currently exist.
Not only campaigns on the Search Network, Displaym le Shopping and Video Network but also a new focus on Smart Campaigns.
The latter will make it increasingly easy to manage the complex variables of display advertising.

Google Ads is the latest step after the 2017 Google AdWords interface change.
Google is a constantly evolving reality. In fact, those who enter the Over The Top Google company’s advertising platform, after a few months of inactivity, are always amazed at some new thing that doesn’t immediately add up.

In October 2017, the change was massive. The entire Google AdWords interface had been graphically overhauled. The changes had also been functional, so much so that Google was calling it not the new Google AdWords interface but the New Google AdWords Experience.

What had changed was in essence:

  • campaign goals as a key step in creating and optimizing campaigns
  • faster access to the most used features
  • new reports and better performing tools to create better statistics
  • Otherwise, Google AdWords remained the same, with the same campaign publishing logic.

Now a new name. In a nutshell, it is the final step in this revolution.
Those who have not dedicated themselves to Google AdWords for a little year, between the new experience transition and name change, will surely be amazed!

The new branding was decided mainly for a more simplified naming.
From the Latin “nomen omen”: Google Adwords/Google Ads, in fact, is a Google tool of paid advertising.
“AdWords” is the union of Ad + Words, where Ad is nothing but the abbreviation for advertising (the English translation of advertising) while Words stands for “words,” the keywords or keywords, of course.
The basis of good SEO optimization is precisely the selection and proper use of keywords that improve your site’s chances of appearing among the top results in search engines.

Ads, therefore, is nothing more than an abbreviation of the aforementioned advertising.
Moreover, Ads is such a common term in the lexicon of the general public in relation to advertising that Google has simply adapted. A more colloquial term for digital advertising that has evolved greatly.

Returning to Google’s paid advertising, it is necessary to know that it too is based on keywords and, more importantly, on their purchase.
